SUMMER 2024 ADVENTURES

It has been awhile since our summer has been busy and adventurous. But this week has been more relaxed and I have had some time to catch up.

As we headed out from Ponca City for our summer adventures. Spent our first couple nights at Wilson Lake in Kansas. Then a night in McCook, Nebraska at Karrer Park Campground. Then on to Brush, Colorado.

The City RV park in Brush

Our view at Wilson lake.

Then on to Narrows Campground in Poudre Canyon along the Cache la Poudre River . Between Fort Collins and Walden, Colorado.

Narrows Campground site.

We moved on to Sentinel Mountain Rv park north of Walden Colorado. Staying here for a week to check out the area and get lab work done.

Our good friends Mike and Janice were in the area heading to the same destination in a couple weeks.

We first checked out the town of Walden. We had brunch at the River Rock Cafe. Then walked and shopped as required in a tourist town. Checked out the amazing North Park Pioneer Museum.

We all made a trip over to Steamboat Springs and hiked to Fish Creek Falls. Also had lunch at The Shack Cafe in old town.

If you see this Crew know that a good time is Being had.

 Look out for this pair.

Our lunch spot.

Then of course we had to walk, shop and buy as required in a tourist town.
Mike and I took a break while buying was happening.

Another day Ronda and I were checking out Walden some more and had lunch at
Four Winds Pizza & Subs

Mike and Janice moved on a couple days before our time there was up. We're going to a different spot from there then meet up with them later. They had moved to Saratoga Lake Campground by Saratoga, Wyoming. Which has a hot spring that's free soaking. So we changed plans and joined them there for a couple nights.

All of us traveled to a BLM ( Bureau of Land Management ) camp site south of Rock Springs, Wyoming. For one night before heading to Sweetwater Event Complex in Rock Springs for Escapade.

Escapade a RVers event put on by the Escapees RV Club for club members. We've been members for over 11 yrs and this was our first time to go. They have seminars about rvs, travel and other related stuff.

The place we use for home base and spend winters is an Escapees Co-op Park called the Lone Star Corral.
There were 15 members from our park attending.
It was a week of new things for us. They had entertainment every night. Learn stuff at some seminars. Bought some stuff at the market there.
The best part is having a good time with friends and meeting new ones.

Some of the rigs, over 600 there.

Mike at Escapees got talent night.

Jan and I had frosted cupcakes.

Each evening meeting for announcements and most importantly door prizes.
Well what do you know. I won a door prize.
A gift certificate to Casa Chavez Mexican Restaurant.

Well the Escapade was over and time for everyone to hit the road again.

It's now the 21st of June and we have a spot reserved in Chimacum, Washington at Evergreen Coho Rv Park. Which is another Escapees Co-op Park. Which we had to put in a request in January and they had 2 weeks available starting on July 2nd. So our travels were going to be a little rushed more than our normal pace. But we had some great adventures on the way.

Our first stop was for one night at a Harvest Host. Harland Homestead in Tremonton, Utah. This was a great place. They had lots of products from the farm. The best thing is the fresh baked sourdough bread .

As we moved on we stopped at a Cottonwood Campground on the Snake River by Boise Idaho. Then to a night at Mindo Hot Springs Rv park in Cambridge, Idaho

This was a great stop.

We slowed down a little for a 3 night stop at Hells Canyon Campground. Right on the bank of the Snake River just south on Hells Canyon Dam.
Just below the dam.

Both of us just checking out the beauty all around us.

View from our campsite.

As we continued on our next stop was Grande Hot Springs Rv Resort.
Our site.

The large pool is about 100 degrees
Small pool about 106 degrees. It was nice.

This was a one night stop then on to Burbank, Washington to Hood Park on the confluence of the Snake and Columbia River. Spent a couple days here to get service done on stuff and rest. Then moved on. Stopped for a night Barrier Dam Campgrounds.

It's now July 2nd and we've made it to Chimacum Washington.

We stayed here for two weeks. We explored many State Parks, Small towns and Olympic National Park.

Also we're able to see a good friend that was part of the Ranch SKP Co-op Park in Lakewood NM. Where we had a lot for 7 yrs.
Pat Brous

With our time here be up. It was time to move on. Our next stop was Kelly's Brighton Marina & Campground in Rockaway Beach, Oregon.  Where Ronda's niece Bre Hall lives. So we spent a couple days with her as our tour guide.
Bre
The first day we spent the day checking out Rockaway Beach.
We walked and shopped as required in a tourist town.
Also had to have ice cream and set and watch waves.

Bre & Ronda walk the beach.

The next day went to Cap Meares Lighthouse and then to Oceanside, Oregon and had lunch at
BLUE AGATE CAFE

Our site at the Marina we parked where the motorhome faced the water and the sunsets.

That was a great spot and the best was getting to spend time with Bre.

It was time for the monthly drug run and the closest Walgreens was in Warrenton, Oregon. Which was an hour north .  The Lewis and Clark National Historical Park was there so took a few hours and checked out the park and Fort Clatsop.  This is near the mouth of the Columbia River and was the last encampment of the Corps of Discovery before starting their return trip to St Louis after the winter of 1805-1806.

Time again to continue on to new adventures but those are for next time.

As always thank you for reading.

Hope you a enjoying the telling of the tale.

The hint of an adventure to come.
